Writer’s Journal – A Long Day, A Long Video

All right. Let’s see what I managed to get done today.

All right. Quick spoiler? The answer is basically “more of the same.” I’m not going to get into it because I’m not mentally in a place where I want to dwell on it any further. But, long story short, today was a long one at my day job. And I wound up in a spot where I simply wasn’t going to have the time to do… anything aside from editing, really. Then there was a pretty severe storm shortly after I got home, so there were some power concerns. Yay. Or something. But on to today’s progress.

Galvanic

Once again, nothing to report. But now that the video is over, it leaves me some time. I’m probably gonna burn through a new post on Saturday to post on Sunday. Since I haven’t been able to watch anything in a while, it’ll probably be on JoJo’s, if I can think of any fun but short topics about Phantom Blood, since I did just watch it for that review and it’s fresh in my mind. If anyone has anything they’d like me to talk about on the particular anime, feel free.

Voyager

Aside from my fighting the urge to write a lengthy and borderline malignant personal journal post, I’ve not really done anything with this site today… have I mentioned that I hate my day job?

Yeah, nothing. But Deca-Dence over the weekend, for sure!

Bulletoon

HERE is is. Okay. So. I finished the episode. I took my time and I’m proud of it. I think it is genuinely the best episode I’ve put together in a while, at least from a technical standpoint. Still nothing “flashy,” but the editing’s just gotten tighter over time. I look forward to the day when I either learn to do proper VFX myself, or I can afford to hire an editor to really make these videos something else. But yeah, the episode is done and will debut tomorrow – Friday, September 4 and 10AM EST. Here’s a LINK to the premiere page on YouTube if you want to get there early!

All right. So here’s what I’m working with, at the moment. Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day. I have to work in the morning (sigh) and as soon as I get home, I have to hop onto a team meeting with the others. We hold them on Mondays and Fridays, generally. One’s a standard business meeting type deal, the other is a Writing Progress check-in. We keep busy. Anyway, tomorrow is the day I get to run my current progress by the guys and see what they think. Since I recently completed two parts, I’m sure there’ll be a pretty decent amount of feedback to draw from. I obviously can’t share the in-depth responses (the chapters won’t be released for a long time. That’s how far ahead we’re working), but I can share how the meeting goes, overall and maybe then I’ll also be free to discuss a few of the less creative, business-y details after this one. We’ll see. That said, tomorrow also marks the beginning of a little semi-holiday for myself after I get done with the guys. I’m not going to go into the specifics as it’s highly personal (I’m fine. Family’s fine. Don’t worry), it’s going to take me a little bit of time to get situated. So we’ll see what work I’m able to get done after the meeting.

And that’s all I have to report today. No big movements, but I think the next few days should actually be pretty productive. Here’s hoping! In the meantime, thanks for reading, as always.
