Discover Yourself
This is a quick one.
Just felt like I should probably make a small update about the state of things, at the moment.
If you’ve been keeping up with Ghost Light Exorcist at all then, first of all, thank you very much! Second, you probably already know that Volume 1 is coming to a close. And soon. This arc is it. If my outline holds, the end should come somewhere within the next 10 – 15 chapters.
I’ve already stated on Twitter that the present arc is the one I’ve been wanting to do the most, out of all the ones in Volume 1. So it’s really exciting for me. It lets me really start delving into a lot of the series’ emotional core and get the ball rolling on a lot of characters’ personal journeys. Kitsu’s quest to become a capable Exorcist and save all the spirits, Seizo’s apparent quest to troll the Exorcist community forever, Sakurai’s quest to [REDACTED], and then some. A lot of Volume 1 has been meticulous worldbuilding. But this last arc finally lets me really start getting into that stuff I love the most about any story – characters! I think, if you’ve been reading, you’re probably already beginning to see that.
This arc is also a lot longer and a lot slower than the others, specifically for the reason. I want the story to really pace itself with things like this so there’s time to really let the characters resonate… before I start blowing things up!
Look forward the the conclusion of this arc, and the whole of Volume 1! You won’t want to miss it!
This is something I’ve recently started working on. Up until now, I haven’t been broadly announcing the updates of new chapters outside of Twitter and Discord. Nor have I actually been giving titles to the individual chapters of the story. Both of those things are now changing.
Starting today, I’ve begun posting the announcements to Instagram, as well. Using images like this!
Ain’t Kitsu adorable? The biggest thing holding me back on this one was just a lack of images. I now have a small handful I can use and cycle through to change things up, on occasion, changing up the text as needed!
Not only that, but I’ll be posting chapter updates on this blog, beginning with Volume 2. I’m likewise working out how I want to go about this, but I do plan on promoting the series on YouTube, which is something I haven’t done just yet, largely because I haven’t had a real means of doing it. But I’ve got an idea. So we’ll see. If it works, it’ll be fun.
The other part of this is that I’m starting the process of titling each individual chapter of the story. What’s more, I’m going back and retroactively giving titles to already-published chapters. I’ll soon be posting a full directory of the chapters to the site. As you can see, Chapter 26 has been dubbed “Rust Flashpoint.” A foreboding title if you’ve been following the series, thus far. Chapter 25 has been titled “In Your Absence,” a reference to the central conflict that’s come up in the current arc, and becomes incredibly apparent in that chapter. I’ll keep you posted!
This is a really small thing, but I am planning to set up some sort of method for you guys to sponsor the series if you so choose. The website that I post the series on – Voyce.me – uses STRIPE. I, however, am weighing my options. I’m looking at Ko-fi as well, for example. I’ll let you know when I figure out something.
That’s it! Be sure to check out new weekly chapters, Tuesdays or Wednesdays, only on Voyce.me! Thanks for reading, as always!
Stay safe, Stay healthy, Stay Awesome!
